I joined UTSAAH lab in August 2024 as a PhD scholar, working under Prof. Manish Arora as my guide and Prof. Prosenjit Das from Materials Engineering department as my co-guide.
I am currently exploring my research topic in the field of additive manufacturing. I am currently involved in doing the simulation of Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and Direct Energy Deposition (DED) process and validating them with experiments. I am also a part of Advance Manufacturing & Materials processing laboratory (AMMPL Lab) under Prof. Prosenjit Das. There we have Laser-Powder Bed Fusion setup for experimentation purpose. The simulation includes thermo-fluid modelling as the process involves phase change of powder from solid to liquid and back to solid. Solidification, microstructure prediction and effect of laser parameters on mechanical properties is also a part of the current study. The material I am working on is Ti6Al4V that is highly used in aerospace and medical industry.
Previously, I have worked in Tata Projects Limited for 1.5 years and then worked in a start-up for 6 months. I have done my Bachelors and Masters from IIT Bombay in 2017-22. My Masters project was to build a LPBF setup under Prof. Amber Shrivastava.
I am open to collaborate with to help industries in bringing out new innovations in the field of additive manufacturing.
