About me I am Govind Kumar, a Ph.D. student specializing in Advanced Manufacturing. My Ph.D. research focuses on the design and development of a new Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) process named High-Pressure Compressive Reverse Shearing (HPCRS). This process is highly capable of producing sheet metals with exceptionally high formability for all metals. It is well-aligned with Processing-Controlled Properties (PCP), contributing to sustainability. It has been claimed that the developed process is the most advanced version of any existing SPD processes in the last ten decades. We have filed a patent for this invention.
During my Ph.D., I have also engaged in collaborative work on:
1. The fabrication of Polymer-Derived Ceramic Aluminum-based nanocomposites, which exhibit high strength and ductility.
2. Investigating the small-scale deformation behavior of High Entropy Alloys using the Nano-indentation technique.
3. Linear Friction Welding (LFW) of Ti64 alloy.
