The Department is spread across 3 buildings, namely the DM main building complex, the DM Annexe and the Raman building. The DM main building complex has been classified into three phases (Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3). The front part of the Main building complex is a heritage structure (Phase 3) that houses DM Administrative & Accounts blocks. Phase 1 is the newly constructed building that houses the IISc Smart Factory and Teaching Labs. DM Annexe consists of workshops, common labs & DESIC, and the Raman building houses CPDMeD Technology Business Incubator (TBI). Research laboratories and classrooms are spread across all the three buildings and the construction of Phase 2 is currently underway.
