Summer Internship Opportunities for MDes Students at Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
We are excited to invite internship opportunities for the Master of Design (MDes) 2024-2026 batch from the Department of Design and Manufacturing (DM), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Our students are looking for a 3-month summer internships (May–July 2025) in the fields of product design, product development, and product management for both physical and digital products.
About the IISc MDes Program
The MDes program at IISc integrates design, engineering, and management, equipping students with a multidisciplinary approach to problem-solving in product development. Our students are trained in:
✔ Product Design & Development – CAD, CAE, embodiment design, usability engineering, manufacturing feasibility
✔ Product Management & Strategy – NPD, user research, business strategy, operations management
✔ Technology & Engineering – Basics of electronics, machine design, medical devices, consumer electronics, additive manufacturing
✔ User Experience & Digital Products – UX research, interaction design, service design

- Product Design & Development (Industrial Design, Medical Devices, Consumer Electronics, Automotive Design)
- Product Management (Consumer Products, Digital & Hardware Product Development, Business Strategy)
- 3D Modeling & Engineering (Design Engineering, CAD/CAE, Machine Design)
- UI/UX & Interaction Design (UX Research, Digital Product Design, Design Strategy, Service Design)
- Design Research & Innovation (Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Creative Product Design)
